At Pace, you鈥檒l go beyond textbooks and immerse yourself in hands-on laboratory work and cutting-edge research. Our American Chemical Society-approved chemistry major is designed to help you master the skills needed for graduate school, medical school, or careers in pharmaceuticals, research, or education. Through practical lab experiences, you鈥檒l explore diverse fields including green chemistry, biochemistry, and analytical chemistry鈥攁ll while working with the latest instrumentation in our modern lab facilities.
Starting as early as your sophomore year, you鈥檒l have the chance to conduct research alongside faculty members who are active in fields such as nanotechnology, environmental science, and physical chemistry. Students at our New York City campus benefit from a program that integrates computational and data-driven techniques, while Westchester students gain experience through research projects in Dyson Hall of Science. Opportunities to collaborate with award-winning labs, including the Haskins Laboratory, set our program apart.
Enhance your experience through student organizations like the Chemistry Club, Sigma Xi, and Tri-Beta, where you鈥檒l participate in hands-on activities and build valuable connections. Graduates of Pace鈥檚 chemistry program are in high demand, securing roles with top employers, including Revlon and Agilent Technologies, or pursuing advanced studies in medicine and scientific research.
Curriculum
On the Westchester Campus, professors are actively involved in research in the areas of nanotechnology, environmental science, and physical chemistry all conducted in the cutting-edge Dyson Hall of Science.
In New York City, the Chemistry program is continuously adjusted to the current trends in chemistry and physical sciences. The amount of scientific information that has been accumulated from experiments and simulations has led the scientific practice to its fourth paradigm over the last few years. This is data driven science, and it unifies the first three paradigms of theory, experiment, and computation/simulation.
